Product Description

The slickest and easiest way to load a kayak. Friction free design for super smooth loading

Product Description

The Thule 875XT Hydro-Glide Rooftop Kayak Carrier is a horizontal watercraft transport system featuring a two-pack of Hydro-Glide felt-lined saddles designed to aid in smooth kayak loading and unloading from the rear of the vehicle. The Hydro-Glide saddles of this carrier system are ideally combined with an additional two-pack of Thule Set-to-Go saddles (sold separately), creating a four saddle system that allows for loading and unloading of kayaks by a single person. Additional features include: 100 percent tool-free installation, compatibility with Thule rack systems, round bars and most factory racks and QuickDraw racheting hooks and rope for securing boats at front and rear bumper or tow hooks.

Felt-lined Design for Smooth Loading of Kayaks

Thule's 875XT Hydro-Glide XT Rooftop Kayak Carrier makes roof rack transporting of watersport equipment on your own easier than ever before. The system features 100 percent tool-free installation and is built around two Thule Hydro-Glide saddles which attach in minutes to virtually any roof rack including Thule square load bars, Thule Rapid Aero bars, round bar systems and factory racks using a combination of bolts, metal brackets and securing knobs. Thule Hydro-Glide saddles are designed to be used as the two rear-oriented saddles of a four saddle roof rack kayak carrier configuration. Ideally two Thule Set-to-Go saddles (sold separately) would be used as the two front-oriented saddles of this carrier configuration, but existing rubber faced saddles will work as well. The smooth, felt-lined inner face and automatic pivoting movement of Hydro-Glide saddles allow for easy loading and unloading of kayaks from the back of vehicles. The front end of boats are lifted to the Hydro-Glide saddles and smoothly slide across them towards the contrasting firm hold of the rubber-faced saddles mounted at the front. The overall result is a kayak carrying system that allows a single paddler to easily and safely get their boat to the the top of their rack in seconds.

Beyond the easy loading and unloading capabilities of the Hydro-Glide saddles alone, the Thule 875XT Hydro-Glide Rooftop Kayak Carrier also includes a strap to secure the rear portion of your kayak to the load bars of your rack. (Straps for the front end of your kayak sold separately) The Thule 875XT Hydro-Glide Rooftop Kayak Carrier also contains bow and stern tiedowns with ratcheting QuickDraw hook attachments to further secure mounted kayaks to your bumper or tow hook by way of your kayak's grab handles. Use of these last two components is easy. Once the standard hook is attached at one end of the rope and hooked to chosen positions along your bumpers at both ends, attach the QuickDraw racheting hooks to the opposite ends of both lengths of rope and connect this to kayak grab handles. Pull the free ends of the tiedown ropes connected to the QuickDraw hooks to the desired tightness to secure the hold. To release front and rear connections press the lever located above the ratcheting spool of the QuickDraw.

About Thule

Thule was founded in 1942 by the Thulin family, when Eric Thulin, a true lover of the outdoors, put the Thule name on a pike trap he designed and began to sell in Scandinavia. It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. The Thule Group is a world leader in providing transport solutions for an active life.
